"Where did Sandra disappear to?" - For all those who asked, I hope this answers your questions.
Australia
Australia is a big place and I have only seen a fraction of it in my 20-odd years of life here. With my family I travelled around the country however my most recent experiences have been in Tasmania.

Travelling and photography, my two favourite ways to relax. Ever since Mum and Dad took the family away every school holidays, I have loved travelling. We would pack the suitcases and the rice cooker and head out into the unknown, be it a couple of hours by car or a couple of hours by plane. Even the noise of Mum and Dad's combined snoring nor Dad's literal snail's pace driving couldn't put me if from travelling in adulthood. In action

By the time I entered university, the family holidays were less frequent but the number of weekends away with friends increased. I explored many places within a couple of hours drive of Sydney.

So as soon as I graduated from uni, I took off on a round-the-world trip - to the States, Canada, various points throughout Europe and back again. Not travelling with a tour group, mind you. I was very determined to do it alone so armed with my guidebook and address book I ventured out. A vast majority of my overseas photos are from that trip.

My love of photography goes hand in hand with my love of travelling. I got my first camera in Year 6 for a school excursion to Canberra and I've been happily snapping away ever since. Taking a basic photography course in 2002 made me a bit more knowledgeable about lenses, shutter speeds and the like. The best of the results are here.

A Kiwi-wannabe I certainly am. It's not a big place but it sure packs a punch! I've just completed my 4th trip, and I think I've almost covered all of it! My latest trip was a fortnight loop of Northland, a really surprising and delightful place. In 2004, I drove from Auckland to Christchurch, while in 2001 I did a circumnavigation of the North Island, down the centre and around the East Cape. Along the way, I met some characters and stayed in some unbelievably good (and some ordinary) backpackers.

Asia
I have badly neglected Asia in my travels, so wanting to make amends, I spent a month in Japan in October 2006 and 10 days in Bali in May 2007. Japan was a truly fascinating country and Bali, although more familiar, was surprisingly beautiful. Inevitably, I sent a lot of time eating. The best way to experience Asia was certainly through its food!

Europe
From Ireland to Poland, the northern tip of Scotland to sunny Portugal, Europe is filled with great wonders. England, Scotland and Ireland have top-notch hostels and was a great introduction to travelling solo. Through my network of pen friends throughout the Continent, I met a great many warm and generous people and experienced a few things travellers don't normally come across.

North America
In 1999 I spent some months in North America - firstly two months in Camp ABC - New York and then a fortnight exploring Canada - Toronto and Quebec. On the way back to Oz I made a pit stop in California - The Bay Area.
