This is the second album from the Perth band.
First Impressions
Cool stuff. This album has a lot more variety than their first release
Mint 400. It makes use of loops and keyboards (probably due to
the producer Dave Fridmann). The result? An album that is interesting
to listen to, from the pop moments of Baby Blue to Ammonia's usual
high intensity rock in songs like 4711. The album shows a band
that is still developing musically, willing to experiment with their sound.
Fav Moment
I still think that Ammonia is best experienced live, and I particularly
like the songs on the album that can capture this essence. For this reason,
I'd pick their first single You're Not The Only One as my favourite
moment. Seeing it live is even better!
Rating
3 1/2 out of 5 for great songs and live performances. |
